Humanitarian Aid to Ukraine
Coordinated emergency humanitarian support for displaced Ukrainians across Europe.

When Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine began in February 2022, AOWD activated its global diaspora network within 72 hours to coordinate emergency humanitarian support.
What began as an emergency response has evolved into one of AOWD's largest active programmes — a sustained, multi-strand operation supporting displaced Ukrainians across 22 countries while maintaining direct lines of aid delivery into Ukraine itself.
Programme Strands
- Emergency Relief Corridors — coordinating material aid logistics through verified diaspora community organizations in frontline host countries.
- Legal Aid Network — connecting displaced Ukrainians with pro-bono legal support for asylum, documentation, and employment rights.
- Psychological Support Hubs — funding Ukrainian-language psychosocial support services in major host cities.
- Children's Education Continuity — supporting schooling and online Ukrainian curriculum access for displaced children.
- Reconstruction Partnerships — early-stage co-investment with diaspora businesses in community rebuilding projects.
How We Work
AOWD's coordinating role spans a network of over 140 diaspora organizations across Europe, North America, and Australia. We don't replace or duplicate the work of partners — we provide the coordination infrastructure: shared logistics, needs mapping, and consolidated reporting to donors.
All disbursements are tracked through AOWD's programme management system with quarterly public reporting. Partner organizations are selected through a rigorous vetting process and meet our transparency and accountability standards.
How to Support
Donations to this programme go directly to operational costs and partner grants, with a strict administrative overhead cap. To make a designated donation, select "Ukraine Aid" in the donation subject line.
